Think you know a little something about puppy love? Then let us proceed to blow your mind. This weekend, two pugs named Jasmine and Jasper got married in Melbourne, Australia, to raise money for the charity that nursed them back to health after years of hardship.

The pups wed in front of a crowd of 60 dogs and 350 people on Sunday, and their stunt was by all accounts a rousing success: With tickets costing $60 for a human and $30 for a pug, their nuptials raised some $22,800 for Pug Rescue Victoria.

According to Mashable, Jasmine and Jasper were mistreated for years, and by the time they were turned over to the dog-care organization in 2013, they were morbidly obese, nearly blind, and could barely breathe. With a lot of TLC, a weight-loss bootcamp, and regular eye treatments the dogs were rejuvenated and placed in a loving home together.

In addition to being a charity event, the “wedding” served as a way to solidify their cohabitation. “We wanted to come up with something different to firstly celebrate the lives of two very happy re-homed pugs,” Alison, their owner, told Mashable. “Secondly, to help give back to Pug Rescue, that did such a wonderful job in rescuing them and restoring their health.”

According to the Herald Sun, Jasmine’s dress — valued at 2,000 Australian dollars — was designed by Craig Braybrook from Project Runway. Not to be outdone, the best man Frank, bridesmaid Nancy, page boy Gav and flower girl Pixie all wore cute outfits of their own.
