The best way to describe Sarah Seven’s bridal collection? Modern romance. From her sophisticated take on the crop-top to the line’s refined mix of daring necklines balanced by ladylike silhouettes and fabrics, Sarah Seven is a designer to watch. We caught up with the designer after her recent runway show at New York Bridal Fashion Week to hear all about her inspiration for the season, her fabric-centered design process, and her dream celebrity client.

Shopping for a timeless gown that reflects your personal style? Take a look at Sarah Seven.

“The inspiration for this season was breezy luxury,” explained the designer. “We wanted to create a dramatic contrast between the clean lines and crisp fabrics in the Gold Label collection, and the romantic tiered layers of chiffon and tulle in the Signature line. Our hope was to give brides a collection full of options ranging from easy to elegant — with a few separates mixed in to bridge the gap.”

For the designer, it’s all about the fabrics — especially lace!

“When designing the collection each season, I typically begin by selecting fabrics and laces. The pattern of a lace or the weight of a fabric can make or break your aesthetic. We love our laces! We definitely strayed from our classic draping a bit without straying from our favorite soft chiffons and creamier colorways,” said the designer of the new collection. “We wanted to evolve with our bride and offer her sophistication pushing into overly traditional fits and fabrics.”

Her top styling tips for brides? Be yourself, less is more, and smile!

We asked the designer about her top styling tips for brides, and her number one was straightforward. “Don’t overdo it. Be yourself — your own opinion on your styling is the most important! Your fiancé fell for you based on your personal style.” She continued, “And, Smile! You chose elements for your look that made you feel confident and beautiful; flaunting that confidence is the final touch.”

Sarah Seven loves unique fabric trends, and of course, separates!

“My favorite bridal trends are gowns that feature unique fabrics like burnout velvet or allover-sequins,” said the designer. “And of course, I love separates! Trends we can do without? Unmanageable trains!” Her favorite silhouette? “I love the classic A-line with a full skirt, but in the right fabric, a slim fit can be so breathtaking.”

We love her celebrity style crush.

We asked the designer about her dream woman to dress, and true to her bridal aesthetic, she went with a dreamy star known for her modern take on the red carpet, saying, “I would love to dress Diane Kruger!”
