Hollywood may have the Oscars, the Emmys, and the Golden Globes, but the fashion industry has the Met Gala. A holy red carpet grail, the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Costume Institute Gala annually attracts the the A-list of the A-list to flaunt some of the industry’s top designers and most inspiring creations. This year’s Gala, dubbed China: Through the Looking Glass, was no exception when it came to jaw-dropping gowns. Here, the looks that will most inspire brides-to-be.

The Scandal star knocked it out of the park with this bubblegum-hued Prada number. While the buoyant layers certainly made this gown eye-catching from the front, the over-sized bow and plunging straps made this look way better from the back.
