One Venue, Six Ways: Sodo Park, Seattle

Sodo Park in downtown Seattle is one of our favorite modern-rustic wedding venues — the light-filled loft space features soaring ceilings, exposed beams, and wood-paneled walls. It’s a wonderfully versatile event space that can take on a myriad of different looks — here are six ceremony set-ups to demonstrate how, with the right décor elements, the wedding venue can take on a dramatically different vibe.

Ceremony #1: Elegant

For an elegant and classic look, balance out the venue’s raw-space interior by draping the sides to add softness. Decorate the chairs along the aisle with bundles of fresh rosemary and create a focal point with a lush ceremony arch of fresh greenery and spring blooms.

Ceremony #2: Light and Airy

To create a breezy, ethereal vibe, hang panels of chiffon from the ceiling rafters and line the aisle with glowing candles and soft tufts of more chiffon.

Ceremony #3: Cozy and Intimate

Warm up the ceremony space with loads and loads of candles (the more, the better!)—down the aisle and at the altar space (this couple exchanged vows in front of a bookcase filled with candles).

Ceremony #4: Rustic

Complement the wood-paneled, rough-hewn space by adding cut logs and glowing candles along the aisle and a branch-and-vine ceremony arch.

Ceremony #5: Romantic

Add romance to the ceremony space with an asymmetrical ceremony backdrop lined with baby’s breath, along with trios of candles surrounded by a halo of baby’s breath.

Ceremony #6: Clean and Modern

Make the ceremony space stand out from the rest of the venue by lining the sides with crisp, gathered panels.
