We already know that Tina Knowles looked fierce at her wedding to actor Rirchard Lawson wearing a killer Romona Keveza gown, and that her swanky ceremony on a yacht included high-profile guests like daughters Beyoncé and Solange, plus Jay Z, Kelly Rowland, and more in attendance. But now, Tina herself is opening up about finding love again at 61, and how special her big day actually was.

“It couldn’t have been more perfect,” Tina told People of her wedding on April 12. “To walk down the aisle and see all my friends and family and to see my handsome man standin’ there, and to know that at 61 you can still find love and have a magical day like that … it was really beautiful.” We’re sure seeing Blue Ivy and Julez (Solange’s son) serve as flower girl and ring bearer didn’t hurt, either!

Surprisingly, Queen Bey and Jay Z didn’t get on stage for the occasion. Tina, actually, preferred that they didn’t! “We didn’t want them to work,” she explained. “We wanted them to enjoy the day and not have the pressure of it.”

Bey’s mom wasn’t always sure she’d find such a happy ending after divorcing her now ex-husband Matthew Knowles in 2011 — but she did and she couldn’t be more proud. “It was important to me to have a wedding and walk in white, because sometimes we feel that at a certain age you should act a certain way,” she added. “You can find love at any age. You just have to go for it.” Amen to that, Tina!
