1. Exaggerated eye shadow
We’re always in favor of Brigitte Bardot-inspired eyes and pale pink pouts, so we absolutely loved seeing a new spin on it. Makeup artist Romy Soleimani’s interpretation at Lela Rose rode the perfect line between modern and pretty — in other words, a perfect wedding-day look. Start by lining your upper and lower lash lines with black eye shadow. Then, apply deep eggplant shadow to the upper lids, and white shadow to the inner corners of the eyes. Curl your lashes and finish two coats of mascara.

2. Twinkly eyelashes
The clothes at the Carolina Herrera show were beautiful (obviously), but we couldn’t take our eyes off those lashes! “Water sirens” is how MAC makeup artist Diane Kendal describes the look. To do it yourself, apply eyelash adhesive to the tips of fake lashes (she used MAC’s 33 Lash), then sprinkle them with fine silver glitter. Apply the lashes to your upper lash lines and trace a thin coat of black eyeliner over the top.

3. Gold smoky eyes
Smoky eyes are a perennial favorite, and a little metallic shadow takes them to the next level. Backstage at the Mara Hoffman show, Maybelline New York makeup artist Lottie smudged gray eyeliner on the lids, underneath the lash lines, and in the waterlines of the eyes, then added gold cream eye shadow on top. (We recommend curling your eyelashes and add a few coats of lengthening mascara, too.)

4. Apricot cheeks and lips
Planning a warm-weather wedding? Then consider this summery look at Hervé Leger by Max Azria, which MAC makeup artist Val Garland says was inspired by “California girls vacationing in Santa Fe.” (Le sigh.) To keep the look classic enough for the big day though, we’d recommend focusing on just your lips and cheeks and skipping the matching eye shadow. Choose a sheer, moisturizing lipstick or stain, and try a luminous blush in a similar peachy shade for a lit-from-within glow.
