Few celebrities’ engagement rings have been as a gossip-worthy as Lady Gaga’s heart-shaped diamond ring — and now we’re finally getting the details on the bridal bling that her brand new fiancé, Chicago Fire actor Taylor Kinney, proposed with on Valentine’s Day.

According to People the blinding bauble was designed by none other than Lorraine Schwartz, one of Hollywood’s favorite jewelers and the lady behind Kim Kardashian and Blake Lively’s engagement rings.

“The stone is big and quite beautiful, and actually more expensive than some of the estimates I have read,” Schwartz told InStyle, but stayed quiet about the actual price or carat size. “It’s a challenge to get an excellent heart shape with perfections — the shoulders of the gem have to be totally symmetrical; Lady Gaga’s is all that.”

While her ring is super impressive, it wasn’t all about sparkling diamonds for Gaga on the night of her proposal. In fact, the couple celebrated in a very low-key way: The pair joined Lady Gaga’s parents at their family-owned Manhattan restaurant, Joanne Trattoria, to revel in the happy news. Based on her grin in the photo above, Gaga was elated to be the future Mrs. Kinney, but it turns out she wasn’t the only person excited about their future together.

According to E! News, customer Vlad Panov overheard Lady Gaga’s mother saying, “I have a son now!” But Kinney wasn’t entirely comfortable with all of the attention. Times-Herald Record executive editor Barry Lewis told E! that Kinney was “a little speepish, the way any guy would be in front of his future in-laws.”
